Making Fabric Paper

A couple weeks ago Elizabeth sent us this link from Diana Trout's blog, on making fabric paper, suggesting we make some of our own fabric paper on OT. So today we did just that. Elizabeth brought some fabric paper she had made some time ago but at that time didn't know there was a name for it! I'd also made some but with a little different twist, inspired by one of the articles in Sue's and Terri's book, Creative Ways with Fiber and Stitch.
Above .... Elizabeth's work drying on the walkway .... and below Belinda's drying on the hedge.
E and B working together in a unique style .... in a successful attempt to not get paint on the chair.
And the artists ......

Below, Gina's pieces still drying....
Belinda's findings....
1. my pieces were dry by the time i got home.  they peeled right off the plastic sheet.  So, the dryer sheets worked great so far.  not sure if they will be heavy enough for the bookbinding project??  the muslin/tissue piece will work great.

2.  didn't need the elmer's art paste.  i like the soft gel medium with a bit of water or the polymer medium with less water.  does make a shiny surface.

Thank you ladies for another fun OT and we missed you Jackie!
