Gelli-ing in the studio

We had a productive day making Gellli plate backgrounds to share. We will be mailing them off by July 8th to mailmesomeart.blogspot.com for trading.

B and Jackie creating with the Gelli, Belinda's new silicone rolling pin is a welcome tool for the larger plates instead of a brayer.
Gina's oops paper that we all liked very much.

Belinda's rust colored creation with the large 12X14 plate.

Elizabeth's final products after adding gold pen marks to the red/orange paper.

Jackie's results above, Gina's below

We are looking forward to our exchange and hope the recipients like our pieces.

Odd Tuesday Clay Day

First was exchanges, catch up and discussion .... then in show and tell we had two fabulous cards today. Jackie trimmed one of the pieces in Gina's packet, made some cut-outs to show the lower layer and glued some cut-outs from the lower layer to the top layer, very clever and effective! She curled the wire bits that were included in the packet to go with the clay embellishment .....
Elizabeth created Tea in the Garden! The postcard that I had included (Gina speaking here) was not used for a stiffener as I had expected, but became the focus of this piece. E is so good telling stories with her work!
Elizabeth's note: the first photo below is of the raw materials and then the postcard made from them. Not all the supplies were used, however.
Clay time followed....
 tools.....

...pieces drying, waiting for their kiln time...

and one of the non-clay participants of the day..... Jackie snapped this photo of Cleo "waiting for Ken"...
and here she is watching us from under the cabinet......
Sorry Nic we didn't take any photos of you today .... but you were entertaining as usual. (or maybe that isn't the word?)
